About me

I’m Marianne Westwood, and I’ve spent years cultivating not just plants, but a deep-seated belief that every outdoor space—no matter how small or stubborn—has the potential to become a vibrant, living oasis.

How it All Started: The “Accidental” Rose

I wasn’t always an expert. In fact, my journey started with a near-disaster.

Years ago, I moved into a small cottage with a garden that was less “oasis” and more “overgrown gravel pit.” Tucked in the corner was a skeletal, graying rosebush that everyone told me was a lost cause. Instead of pulling it out, I spent a summer researching, pruning, and—quite literally—talking to it.

When the first deep crimson bloom finally opened against the gray fence, I didn’t just see a flower; I saw a transformation. That single rose taught me that with the right knowledge and a bit of patience, nature is incredibly forgiving. I created Botanical Mood to share that same sense of wonder (and the practical shortcuts I wish I’d had back then) with you.
